Good morning and welcome to the first day of your Clean It Up Challenge!

We’re thrilled you’ve decided to join us on this transformative journey. Over the next five days, we’ll focus on simple yet powerful changes that can make a huge impact on your overall health and well-being.

Today’s Focus: Cleaning up what you put IN your body.

This is a BIG DAY, but don’t worry – we’re going to keep it simple and manageable. The key word for today is UNPROCESSED.

Why Unprocessed Foods?

Ultra-processed foods are often loaded with added sugars, unhealthy fats, and excess sodium, which can lead to cravings, overeating, and various health issues like obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and even cancer. By choosing real, whole, and natural foods, you provide your body with the nutrients it needs to function optimally and feel great.

Your Guide to Day 1:

  1. Clean It Up Challenge Guide: Make sure you have your copy of the guide, which includes essential information about today’s focus. If you don’t have it yet, you can pick up your copy fron the front desk.

  2. Unprocessed Foods: Aim to replace ultra-processed foods with whole foods. Look for items with five or fewer ingredients and avoid those with added sugars and unfamiliar chemicals.

  3. Protein Choices: Pay special attention to your protein sources. Opt for high-quality, unprocessed options like fresh meat, eggs, and plant-based proteins.

Day 1 Action Items:

  1. Read the Guide: Start by reading the section labeled “Day One: What You Put In Your Body” in your Clean It Up Challenge Guide.

  2. Kitchen Audit: Go through your kitchen cabinets, refrigerator, and freezer. Scan ingredient labels and set aside items that don’t meet your criteria.

  3. Make a List: As you go through your kitchen, keep a running list of foods you want to replace or upgrade.

  4. Share: Head over to our facebook page and share what you’ve done! This will help you stay accountable and motivated.

Extra Tips for Success:

  • Shop Smart: When you go grocery shopping, focus on the perimeter of the store where fresh produce, meats, and dairy are usually located.

  • Meal Prep: Prepare meals and snacks in advance to avoid the temptation of reaching for processed options when you’re short on time.

  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to support your body’s natural detox processes.
