KID’S CLUB POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
OBJECTIVE:
Our “mission” is to establish an enthusiastic environment that
promotes physical activity, creativity, guidance, mutual respect and interaction
among children, parents and staff.
AGE
LIMITS: 6 weeks
to 12 years old.
CHECK
IN:
Parents will need to check their children in and out at the desk in the
Kid’s Club. You MUST bring a photo
ID to leave in the Kid’s Club to help us identify parents when they come to
pick up their children. Children
will only be released to the name of the person on the sign in sheet and photo
ID, unless otherwise authorized.
*All children must have socks on to come into the Kid’s Club.
COST:
Payment Options: Hourly
or Monthly Unlimited
HOURLY:
There
is a charge of $2.00 per visit per child. Please
make payment at front desk.
MONTHLY:
Members
may pay a monthly fee for unlimited babysitting.
This monthly charge is electronically deducted from the account provided.
Please see a staff member for current monthly charge.
Each
visit may not be more than 2 hours a day.
RESERVATIONS: Reservations are highly recommended.
We recommend making reservations 24-48 hours in advance. We cannot
always accept walk-ins. To make a
reservation please call 319-377-0504.
LABELING: Please
label all items you bring into the Kid’s Club area.
MEDICATION: Kid’s Club staff members
will NOT administer any medication.
FOOD
& DRINK: No
food will be allowed in the Kid’s Club. Please
feed infants before you bring them. You
may bring a bottle for your child, but this bottle should only need to be given
after the child is in the room for more than an hour.
Please have bottles pre-mixed. If
your child is 2 years or younger, we will allow a sippy-cup to be left for
him/her.
SICK
CHILDREN: To protect all children, sick children will not be
allowed in the Kid’s Club area. If
your child is ill please do not bring him/her.
Also, if your child has recently had immunizations and is fussy, please
do not bring him/her. If there is a
question as to the child being allowed into Kid’s Club, the determination will
be made solely by the gym staff member. If
a child becomes ill while in the gym, a Kid’s Club staff member will notify
the parent to remove the child from the gym immediately.
(Runny nose must be clear, not green and thick.)
BEHAVIOR 1st
time – warning.
POLICY:
2nd time – time out or parent called.
3rd time – parent will be contacted to come and pick up
their child.
(Behavior form will be filled out)
After 3 behavior forms, the child will not be allowed in the Kid’s Club
for seven days. If the
problem continues the child could be suspended from the Kid’s Club.
Please note that the Gold Pointe
Fitness Club reserves the right to suspend any child at anytime from the Kid’s
Club.
Any harmful act toward another child or adult will not be tolerated.
Parents will be contacted to pick up their child.
DISCIPLINE:
We use a positive technique such as modeling, positive reinforcement,
redirection and setting clear limits. “Time
Out” may be used at a ratio of no more than one minute per year of age, if we
feel the child needs to be removed from the activity.
The use of physical punishment is never permitted for any reason.
BATHROOM If
an accident occurs, parents will be contacted to come

pick up their child. Three accidents
in one month could result in suspension from the Kid’s Club.
The staff is not responsible for diaper changing.
Children who are not potty trained must be left in a clean diaper when
the parent leaves the room.
FIRE,
TORNADO, In case of a fire in the building, we are to follow
one of the
INTRUDERS
OR exits on our map, if extra adults are needed get
them from
INTOXICATED
the front desk. In the vent that a tornado
is sighted near-by
PARENTS:
and the sirens are going off, we are to take the children to the woman’s locker room.
For any intruders in the center or intoxicated parents, we are to call
the front desk to help immediately.
